The New Mr. and Mrs. Whatley :)

Another amazing wedding reception!  I had the opportunity to DJ for the Mele family again (I’ve been friends with Sally since we started our DJ business here in Florida back in 1998).  This time it was Erica getting married to her price charming … Donnie!   They held their reception at Eaglebrooke Golf and Country Club in Lakeland FL.  They ulled out all the stops, everything from the decor to the meal was perfect!  They hired my wife KC Photography’s own Christina Suit (Click to view KC Photography Website) to be their photographer (photos should be on their blog soon).  After we got past dinner the dance floor never emptied (a DJ’s favorite thing, yeah!).  Here are some of he highlights from the reception:

Package: Entertainment Coordinator with D’Elegance Lighting Package and Laser Starfield

- 1st Dance: Open Arms by Journey
- Bride / Father Dance: In My Daughters Eyes by Martina McBride
- Groom / Mother Dance: Simple Man by Lynard Skynard

Justin and Megan ... so much in love ...

Justin and Megan Tighe’s wedding reception was unbelievable. It was our 1st time as the DJs at Bilmar Beach Resort, but the staff made us feel right at home. The ceremony was outside (I have to give major props to Megan and all the guys in tuxes as it was a heat index of 103 when the ceremony began, but they didn’t so much as complain once) on the beach. After the ceremony they came into the Beach Bar (it was air conditioned thankfully) where after an amazing dinner, Megan and Justin’s party became legendary! Check out the video (if it’s not up yet, check back in a few days), Arnoldo did an unbelievable job with his playlist. So many fun songs that rarely get played at wedding receptions and the dance floor was eating it up! Here are some of the detail highlights:

- 1st Dance: Can’t Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis (which is awesome since Justin’s brother Jim is an Elvis impersonator)
- Daugher / Mother Dance: Song for Mama by Boyz II Men
- Son / Mother Dance: Forever Young by Bob Dylan
- Cake Cutting: 8 Days A Week by The Beatles
- Bouquet Garter Songs: Bad Touch, I’m Too Sexy, I Wear My Sunglasses At Night, What Is Love, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Fire Burning, Switch / Mr. Bombastic
- Last Dance: At Last by Etta James

Mr. and Mrs. Creeley enjoying their last dance together!

I had the pleasure of entertaining at Matt and Mandy Creeley’s wedding reception.  These are two exceptional people and I’m honored to have been a part of their celebration!

Matt and Mandy hired A Premier Entertainment at the recommendation of Denise from Huntington Hills Golf and Country Club.  We have done many successful events and Denise is one of my absolutely favorite vendors (www.huntingtonhillscountryclub.com).  When I arrived at Huntington Hills for set up, everything looked beautiful (and the Prime Rib was unbelievable, Denise and her staff rock!)!  Mandy choose the colors and decor and we added our uplighting under the cake tables and behind the head table to really pull the head table in as the center point of focus in the room.  We also did the stars on the ceiling, but I didn’t get any good pictures of them so you’ll have to take my word that it looked great!

When I was doing the final consult with Mandy, I knew that this was going to be an awesome reception.  Mandy wanted it to be fun and it turned out exactly as she had hoped!  Her family and friends were wonderful!  Lots of dancing, especially when you consider that this was a dry reception and it didn’t get dark outside until the last hour of the reception.

We also got to work with our favorite photography company, KC Enterprises Photography (www.polkphoto.com) as well as our favorite Videography company (www.storybookweddings.tv).  Make sure you check out KC Enterprises blog after they get the chance to post their photos, Christina (my wife) and Jenny are amazing!  I don’t know if Storybook Weddings will be posting a video, but if they do … check it out!

Some of the highlights of the reception:

- Introduction music: Sandstorm for Parents and Bridal Party, Rock and Roll Part 2 for Matt and Mandy
- 1st Dance: Beautiful by Jim Brickman w/ Wayne Brady
- Father / Daughter Dance: Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman
- Mother / Son Dance: Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
- Bridal Party Dance: That’s What Friends are For by Dionne Warwick and friends
- Bouquet and Garter: Oh Yeah, Let’s Get It On, Rocky Theme, Another One Bites the Dust, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and It’s Raining Men
- Anniversary Dance: Remember When by Alan Jackson
- Last Dance: Always and Forever by Heatwave
- Grand Exit: Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye by Steam

I hope you like the photos below and the video, and if you do like what you see, please leave a comment on the blog.  Click the more button to view and as always … enjoy :)

Wedding DJ Winter Haven FL – Disc Jockey for Reception at Garden Ballroom for Londann and Jeremy May 2nd 2009

It was like they were the only 2 people in the room!

Londann and Jeremy Andrews were so wonderful to work with.  They are great people and I was honored to be part of their celebration.  They had their wedding reception at the Garden Ballroom in Winter Haven.  The Gardenball room is a beautiful location and they had it decorated exquisitely.  Because Londann and Jeremy are such incredible people, the ballroom was packed!  They had so many guests that getting around to the tables to invite them to the buffet was a challenge, but I managed, lol.  If there was any drawback to the day, it would have been that they were running late to the reception which pushed things back a little (with this crowd I hated to take away any of the dance time because they are so much fun).  We did manage to get back most of the time we lost and when we opened up the dance floor, it was classic Merrick family fun!  It was also great to get to meet and entertain for the Andrews, they are going to be a perfect addition to the Merrick clan.  Can’t wait for the next celebration!

Some of the highlights from the reception:

- Introductions: Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts for the parents and bridal party, Welcome to the Family by Little Big town for Londann and Jeremy
- First Dance: Then by Brad Paisley (this was a surprise from Jeremy to Londann)
- Parents Dances: My Little Girl by Tim McGraw for Londann and Dale.  Song for Mama by Boyz II Men for Jeremy and Patti
- Cake Cutting: I Thought I’d Seen Everything by Bryan Adams
- Bouquet and Garter: Bad Boys by Inner Circle for Removal and Garter Toss.  American Woman for Bouquet toss.
- Last Dance: This Kind of Love by Sister Hazel
- Grand Exit: All I Ever Wanted by Chuck Hicks

Deserving much credit is Debbie O’Kelley (Regina’s – Mother of the Bride – Sister in Law) for doing an amazing job with the catering.  The food was delicious!

Also, this was my 1st time working with Tammy Koukoulis from Soleil Photography.  She and her staff were wonderful to work with, I look forward to seeing Londann and Jeremy’s photos up on her blog and you can check them out too (http://tammykoukoulis.wordpress.com/).

In the mean time, you can enjoy the photos and video I took … click the more button to see the photos and video from the reception.  As always, please leave positive feed back on my blog, thanks and enjoy …

Winter Haven DJ Cypresswoods Wedding Reception Elizabeth and Jeremy Voss 4-25-09 Disc Jockey DJs DJ’s

Posted by: Kelly Suit  :  Category: weddings
Wow!  This wedding was so awesome for so many reasons.  Don’t get me wrong, all of the weddings we have done are amazing in one way or another, but Elizabeth and Jeremy’s is definitely one that I won’t ever forget.  I’ve worked at Cypresswoods Golf and Country Club many times in the past (wonderful staff and facility I might add), but with the help of their wedding coordinator Ashly (http://www.olivierevents.com) they transformed the room into something magical (with the help of our uplighting, you need to check out the before and after pictures below).   In fact, this wedding reception broke our record for the most up lights used in at any event (32 up lights in the dinning room and 12 LED up lights in the tent where they had their dance floor).

Everything was 1st class for this wedding from the decor to the other vendors we had the opportunity to work with including:

Videography – Kevin Brewer of Brewer Photography and Video (http://www.brewerphotovideo.com)
Photography – Michael Potthast of Potthast Studios (http://www.potthaststudios.com)
Venue – Cypresswood Golf and Country Club – Bob Schade (http://www.cypresswoodcc.com)

It was also wonderful to work with A Premier Entertainments own Arnoldo Offermann.  I was only the MC for this reception while Arnoldo kept the dance floor packed.  Also all of the light shows you will see in the video from our LED uplights were programed by run by Arnoldo, he is da bomb!

Some of the reception highlights:
- 1st Dance to Then by Brad Paisley
- Elizabeth and her dad danced to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw
- Jeremy and his mom dance to The Wedding Coat (can’t remember the artist … inside joke, lol)
- Grand Entrance for Bridal Party to Sirus by Alan Parson’s Project, Elizabeth and Jeremy to Florida Gators Fight Song
- Cake Cutting to How Sweet It Is by James Taylor
- Garter removed to Let’s Get It On by Marvin Gaye
- Bridal Party Dance to Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks
- Last Dance to She’s Everything by Brad Paisley

I don’t normally include as my photos as you will see below, but there were so many great personal touches as well as great photo opportunities, I couldn’t help myself.   Please click the more button to see them and the video … Enjoy!

Wedding DJ Avon Park Sebring FL DJs DJ’s Disc Jockey Reception Party

Posted by: Kelly Suit  :  Category: weddings

Kaylee and her guest working it on the dance floor.

Arnoldo and I got to pair up to be the DJ and Master of Ceremonies for Mason and Kaylee Cobb’s wedding reception at Kaylee’s parents house in Avon Park, FL.  The set up for an outside reception for 400 people.  To accomodate, we brought out the big guns.  4 Bose sticks with subs (over $10,000.00 in audio) and it sounded incredible.  Plenty of sound to cover that many guests outside (and don’t even get me started about how loud it got once we got to dancing, with plenty of headroom).

This reception is another rare case of where I never met the bride or groom until the reception.  We were hired by Gini Beth Henderson their wedding coordinator (http://www.ginibethsweddingsandmore.com) and it was wonderful working with her and her staff.  Ginibeth runs a tight ship and we were actually ahead of schedule all night long.  You can see some of Ginibeth’s handywork in the photos below.  We also got to work with Alex Gilliard, Kaylee and Mason’s photographer (http://www.alexgilliard.com/?p=565) and he was great to work with!  You can see his photos from their wedding by clicking his hyperlink.  Also the cakes were provided by  Cookie Jar from Bartow (beautiful and tasty)!

I did get to do an over the phone consult with Kaylee and Mason and I could tell that this was going to be  fun reception!  They requested lots of great songs for Arnoldo to work with and as usually Arnoldo kept the dance floor packed, check out the photos below to get an idea of how much fun everyone was having.  Some of the highlights from the reception:

- Introduction to Get Ready for this with Michael Buffer intro
- First dance to I Cross My Heart
- Parents Dances to I Loved Her 1st (Kaylee and her dad) and My Wish (Mason and his mom)
- Cake Cutting to How Sweet It Is by Marvin Gaye
- Anniversary dance to Remember When

Some of the dance songs that got the best reaction included Copperhead Road, Cha Cha Slide, Electric Slide, and Cupid Shuffle (they loved the line dances).  It was a beautiful night and I’m very thankful that we were invited to be a part of their celebration.  Photos and video below, enjoy! Wedding DJ Lakeland FL Sorosis Building Reception Amanda and Christopher Richey 4-2-09

The newly wed's 1st dance ... awwwhh.

I don’t know if I have ever had a more laid back bride and groom the Amanda and Chris Richey. Their wedding reception was uniquely fitting to their style and personalities, and even picking a Thursday night for their date! From the beginning of the process to the end of the reception, I truly enjoyed being involved with this couple and their wedding. I was honored to be their DJ. The ceremony and reception were held at the Sorosis Building in Lakeland FL (ceremony outside with one of their close friends performing live, and the reception inside with your’s truly).

We skipped several of the traditional reception steps (no bouquet and garter for example). Amanda and Chris really wanted a more relaxed, informal party. Lots of drinking, spending time with their closest family and friends, and a little dancing tossed in for good measure. They assembled an all-star team of vendors too. It was an absolute pleasure working with Angela and her team from Sunshine Celebrations (http://sunshinecelebrations.blogspot.com), they were amazing to work with! So many of their beautiful touches can be seen in the photos at the bottom. The cake was decorated by Andrea from Sweet Cakes (http://www.sweetcakesllc.com), and it was amazing! They had Chef Lo (http://cheflo.com) for their caterer, and not only was Chef Lo’s presentation extraordinary, the food was sooooo good! And of course, they had A Premier Entertainment for their DJ (my own personaly favorite DJ company, lol).

Some of the Highlights:
- Grand Introduction to Black Betty by Ram Jam for the Bridal Party and Touch Me by the Doors for Amanda and Chris
- 1st Dance to The Joker by Steve Miller
- Father / Daughter Dance to A Pirate Looks at 40 by Jimmy Buffet
- Mother / Son Dance to Have I Told You Lately by Van Morrison
- Cake Cutting to My Best Friend by Queen
- Last Dance to Should I Stay or Should I Go by the Clash

Check out the photos and video below and remember to leave positive feedback! Enjoy…

Match made in heaven!

This wedding ceremony and reception was off the chain!  I was invited to be the DJ for Carolyn and Curtis Lewis’s wedding reception at the Sheraton Suites in Tampa Florida.  Carolyn had an incredible vision for her wedding day and it was a treat to be a part of it.   Along with providing the music for ceremony and dance portion of the reception, I also provided the uplighitng and the monogram on the dance floor.

Once we got to the dancing portion of the afternoon, the dance floor was packed.  Carolyn and Curtis are truly blessed with wonderful family and friends.  This wedding/reception is one that I will never forget.

Some of the highlights:

Processional to Victory
Grand Enterance to Ain’t No Stopping Us Now
1st Dance to At Last
Carolyn’s Sister Shirron singing Inseperable as a tribute
Last Dance to Let’s Get It On

Stealing a moment together on the dance floor.

I was the DJ at Paradise Cove in Orlando for Elizabeth and Toby Norquist’s wedding reception. Elizabeth found us through our website and all of our contact was by email and phone up til the day of the reception, but Elizabeth gave me so much background on the two of them and their tastes I felt extremely comfortable helping them have a truly memorable ceremony and reception.

It was an absolutely beautiful evening (they couldn’t have asked for better weather). Paradise cove is so pretty! If you are wanting a beach reception and you don’t want to travel to the coast, you really need to check this place out. Kahuna Grill (http://www.kahunagrill.net/1598078.html) did the catering and the food was amazing! Their photographer was wonderful to work with (I will post her link if/when she contacts me). Elizabeth did a terrific job picking her vendors.

Some of the highlights of the reception;
-after saying I Do they did their processional to “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles
-1st Dance song was “Lucky” by Jason Mraz
-Cake Cutting song was “Banana Pancakes” by Jack Johnson
-Elizabeth danced with her dad to “My Girl” by the Temptations
-Electric Slide/Cha Cha Slide/Macarena
-Soul Train Line to Calibria / Space Jam / C’mon Ride The Train

Elizabeth and Toby were so much fun to work with. I wish them both a life time of love, happiness, and togetherness!

One of Allison and Steve's personal touches.

This may have been the shortest wedding reception I’ve ever performed, but I had a great time with it.
Steve and Allison are down to earth people that love their classic rock music.  Steve specifically requests that any music that might be played on Oprah Winfrey Yatch need not be played, I got a chuckle out of that.  This reception only had one dance and that was the 1st Dance to which Steve and Allison dances to Maybe I’m Amazed by Paul McCartney.  We did their introduction to For Those About To Rock by AC/DC.  Any reception that you can play Led Zepplin is alright in my book :)   They had cajan style food for their meal and it was a little spicy, but very delicious.  Thank you Allison and Steve for allowing me and my company (A Premier Entertainment) to be a part of their celebration.  Make sure to view the video at the bottom of this page!
